The Friends of Thayer Public Library announced they will hold a town-wide Walk-A-Thon called "Discover Braintree" to benefit the Library's Development Fund.

"Discover Braintree" Walk-A-Thon Registration will start at 10:30 am Sunday, May 21st at Town Hall Parking Lot. The sites will be chosen and staffed by members of the Friends and other volunteers. The various sites will be staffed from 11am to 2pm and will be followed by a Free Jazz Concert at the Thayer Public Library at 3pm.

School children from Braintree schools, along with parents, friends and neighboors, will be registering for the Historical "Discover Braintree" Walk-A-Thon and asking sponsors to pledge a monetary sum for this very worthwile cause. This Historic Walk-A-Thon is an important fundraiser for the Library and the Town as a way to support the purchase of additional - and much needed - parking space. Please be receptive to the young walkers in your neighborhood by sponsoring them for this event.
